Hanagata, heir to a wealthy family, becomes Otaru's next-door-neighbor after a fire destroys his mansion. He passionately adores Otaru and follows him around like a puppydog most of the time. Hanagata is the comic relief -- he tends to go flying through the air a lot -- although he does come through in the crunch times. Hanagata was my favorite character in SMJ from the moment we "met." Getting a cel of him, ANY cel, has been a frustrating experience. Even though his eyes are closed in this one, I'm happy to have it.
